Meet arrival. Kuching City Tour/Heritage Walk will include the visits to: Photo stop at Sarawak Museum. Sarawak Museum, the oldest of its kind in Borneo, exhibits collections on the natural history of Sarawak. In the botanical garden (more like a park) that is part of the Sarawak Museum Complex there is a Hero Monument to commemorate Sarawak heroes and warriors. Chinese Museum traces the history of the Chinese community in Sarawak. Kuching Waterfront now transformed into a landscaped esplanade, was an important place in the founding of Kuching. Take a leisurely stroll along the Waterfront to explore its historical buildings such as Round Tower, Square Tower, Clock Tower, Post Office Building & Old Court House. Photo stops will be made at the statue of “White Fortunate Cat” and the office complex of Kuching City South Council. The first great Cat Statue located in Padungan Street in front of Little Chinatown. The statue looks as if it is waving its left hand which also believed as a symbol of hope for luck and fortune. Sunset Cruise (Air-Cond) is a fantastic way to turn a page back in history of Sarawak, through a cruise along the river that brings you past historical landmarks of Kuching. Check-in hotel.
After breakfast, proceed to Bako National Park. It is Sarawak’s oldest national park and it is home to the rare proboscis monkeys, monitor lizards, wild boars, mouse deer and over 150 species of birds. With its rainforest, abundant wildlife, jungle streams, waterfalls, panoramic rocky shoreline, bizarre rock formations and interesting plant life, Bako National Park offers visitors an excellent introduction to the rainforests. Simple lunch at Bako National Park. (Things to bring: Insect Repellent, Raincoat, Own Drinking Bottle & First Aid Kit) Back to hotel.
**Note: The tour does not operate during rough sea conditions or heavy rain. These animals are wild and therefore, there is no guarantee that visitors will see them.**
Breakfast in hotel. The Wind Cave derived its name from the draught of air. Explore the cave with your guide on the boardwalk and experience the thrill of walking in the dark. Visitors can observe thousand of bats and swiftlets which produce the Chinese delicacy of bird’s nest. In Fairy cave, you will be able to see the wonderful limestone formations in these mystical caverns that are thousands of years old. One of the limestone formations resembled Kwan Yin, the Chinese Goddess. The Chinese living in the area believe these formations are representations of “spirit beings”, and thus gave the cave its name (Bring your own torch light). Proceed to Semengoh Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre to see the “Wildmen of Borneo”. They are fed twice daily on the wooden platform. Feeding times provide an excellent opportunity for the visitor to view the Orang Utan at close range. During the fruit season, Orang Utan may not appear at all. Visit Malaysia-China Friendship Park. The Park was built in 2005 to commemorate 30 years of diplomatic ties between Malaysia and China. The China park area incorporates the styles of Yunnan province with a Chinese gateway, friendship memorial tea pavilion, zig-zag bridge, Beijing and Kunming pavilions, wishing well and a 20-foot statue of Admiral Zheng He, landscaping of Chinese flora, a water lily pond, man-made lake, walking tracks and an open plaza for community activities. In the Malaysia park area, there are elegant depictions of Malaysia's rich multicultural heritage and diversity particularly that of Sarawak.
